The 2023 Georgia PGA Section tournament season starts off with a bang at the Club Car Pro-Pro Scramble presented by Bridgestone Golf, Fire Maker Brewery, GT Golf Supplies, SCNS Sport Foods & StickX Golf. The event took place on March 28th at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth.
Head PGA Golf Professional, Chris Cartwright of West Pines Golf Club in Douglasville and PGA Director of Golf, Robert Long of Twin City Country Club in Tennille won the event with a walk off eagle on #10. Cartwright and Long, fired a 10-under 62, that broke a five way tie at 8-under. The team received a check for $1,900 for their efforts along with the hardware.
This event unfortunately was cancelled in 2022 at The River Club due to weather and this year almost followed the same path. With the General Meeting taking place in the morning, it allowed for a 12:30 PM shotgun start and the morning clouds and rain broke to sunny blue skies for the two-person scramble format.
