Georgia PGA Announces Exclusive New Tournament at East Lake Golf Club Honoring Former Director of Golf, Drew Dunn, PGA called “The Drew.”

Winner Will Receive $50,000 Thanks to Generous Support from PGA REACH Georgia Foundation Board Member and Longtime Georgia PGA Supporter, Philip Jones.

ATLANTA, GA – The Georgia PGA is proud to announce the launch of a new, exclusive 18-hole tournament to be played at the iconic East Lake Golf Club on Monday, November 3, 2025, honoring the life and legacy of Drew Dunn, PGA, the former Director of Golf at East Lake Golf Club. The Drew will be open to Class-A PGA Professionals in the Georgia Section (excluding A-3 Professionals) only, celebrating the highest level of professional excellence within the game.

Made possible by the generous support of Philip Jones, PGA REACH Georgia Foundation Board Member and longtime supporter of the Georgia PGA, the tournament will award a life-changing $50,000 to the champion – the largest individual prize in Georgia PGA history.

“This tournament is a tribute to Drew’s legacy and everything he represented — professionalism, character, and the belief that golf can change lives,” said Scott Geary, Chief Executive Officer of the Georgia PGA. “Drew’s story is remarkable — from starting as a caddie at East Lake to ultimately becoming its Director of Golf. Hosting this event at the very place where his journey began with the support of a dedicated PGA REACH Georgia Board Member makes it even more meaningful.”

With the help of the Georgia PGA and historic East Lake, I look forward to welcoming all qualifying participants to The Drew.”

In addition to tournament play, a special kickoff event will be held on the evening of Sunday, November 2, 2025, to welcome participants, PGA REACH Georgia stakeholders, and to celebrate the memory of Drew Dunn, PGA, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. 

Tournament Format & Structure:
The Drew will feature the top-72 players from the 2025 Georgia PGA tournament points list, competing in an 18-hole individual stroke play format. Tee times will run in threesomes from 8 – 10 a.m. off nos. 1 & 10, with pairings based on the 2025 Georgia PGA points list. The top 4 finishers (and ties) will then compete in a playoff on hole 18 to determine the winner. The champion will receive a $50,000 first-place prize, the largest individual payout in Georgia PGA history. This tournament will serve as an enduring tribute, bringing together Georgia PGA’s Class-A professionals in a competitive and inspirational setting on the course he once led.
