What a wild finish to the Georgia PGA Junior Championship presented by Piedmont Bank at Doublegate Country Club on June 4-6! Mary Miller of Savannah, a Georgia Southern 2024 commit, cruised to a 9-shot victory as she carded 68-72-68 for an 8-under total for the three days to repeat as the Girls Overall Champion. Camryn Coffield, a rising HS Junior from Hamilton, was runner-up after starting the final round 2 shots back from Miller. Both will go on to represent the Georgia Section in the Junior PGA Championships on July 30-August 2 at Congressional Country Club in Maryland.
A playoff for the Boys Overall Champion was delayed due to a dangerous situation. After the clouds cleared, Mackinnley Yarbrough, a rising HS Sophomore from Temple, defeated 2025 Georgia Southern Commit, Trace Carter of Blackshear, by virtue of a birdie on hole 18. Yarbrough had the low round of the tournament during round one as he carded a 7-under, 65 and finished the tournament at 4-under. Carter saved his best round for his last one with a 4-under, 68 to get into the playoff. Both boys will represent the Georgia Section at Congressional in July. Defending Champion William Long, a rising HS Sophomore of Alpharetta finished one shot back and will be 1st alternate for the National Championship.
