The Georgia PGA’s Communications Committee engages it’s members by hosting Member Mixers, where PGA Members and Associates gather to connect and learn about the impactful initiatives of the Georgia Section. The mixers are designed to help our members stay connected and welcome new members or transfer in’s, to the Georgia Section.

Although there are different topics at each one, the one held on Monday, December 16 at the Section Office at Bobby Jones Golf Course was focused on PGA REACH Georgia initiatives. The event spotlighted two key programs that are making a significant difference in the community: Her Shot and PGA HOPE.

Her Shot, part of the Foundation’s inclusive pillar, aims to introduce and encourage women of all backgrounds to engage with the game of golf. This program provides resources, coaching, and opportunities to empower women both on and off the course, helping to create a more inclusive and diverse golf community. Thank you to Bria Janelle and the Bria Janelle Foundation for letting us help contribute and grow this program.

Another highlight was PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a national program dedicated to helping military veterans improve their physical and mental well-being through the game of golf. PGA HOPE provides therapeutic golf instruction to veterans, offering them a unique path to healing and camaraderie while transitioning back to civilian life.

In addition to learning about these impactful programs, attendees had the chance to network with fellow professionals, share experiences, and discuss ways to get involved with PGA REACH Georgia’s initiatives. The event underscored the importance of community engagement and how members can leverage these programs to make a positive impact.

For those who couldn’t attend, the Georgia PGA will continue to provide updates on these and other programs. Members are encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities to help grow the game and support meaningful causes.
