Paul Claxton, PGA Life Member from Claxton captured the Yamaha Georgia Senior Open contested at Coosa Country Club in Rome. Claxton fired a second-round score of 2-under par 70, which added to his first-round score of 67 for a two-day total of 7-under par 137 and defeated Sonny Skinner by five strokes.
Claxton adds the 2020 Yamaha Georgia Senior Open title to his multitude of victories in Georgia PGA tournaments over the last four years. Introduced in 2016, the Super Senior Division honors were split by professionals Chuck Little, PGA and Bob Flanagan, both with scores of 2-over-par 146 for the championship.
Mike Combs of Roswell and Scotty Scott of Hoschton both finished at 1-over-par 145 to share Low Amateur honors. In the Super Senior Amateur Division, Frank Brown of Rome and Don Marsh of Johns Creek finished tied at 6-over par 150 to share the title.
