The Price is Right: Avery Price Captures Georgia PGA Assistants’ Championship

Avery Price, PGA of America Assistant Professional at The Rose Golf Club, captured the 2026 Georgia PGA Assistants’ Championship on Monday at Druid Hills Golf Club, finishing the 36-hole championship at 15-under-par.

Price put together an impressive performance across both rounds, opening the day with an 8-under-par 64 first round to take the lead into the final 18 holes. He continued his strong play in the afternoon, carding a 7-under-par 65 second round to pull away from the field and secure the championship.

Price capped off his day in fitting fashion, knocking in a three-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to finish at 15-under-par 129 and put the finishing touch on a three-stroke victory.

Nico Escobar, Associate PGA Professional at Capital City Club, finished as the closest challenger at 12-under-par 132 after 36 holes.

The championship brought together the Section’s top assistant professionals for 36-holes of competition at Druid Hills Golf Club, with players competing for the title and 

coveted qualifying spots into the 2026 Assistant PGA Professional Championship.

Price earned one of four qualifying spots alongside Landon Coontz, Associate PGA Professional at West Lake Country Club; Austin Quillian, Assistant PGA Professional at Reynolds Lake Oconee; and Ben Dulin, Associate PGA Professional at Polo Golf & Country Club.

The four will represent the Georgia PGA at the 2026 Assistant PGA Professional Championship, which will take place November 12–15, 2026, on the Wanamaker Course at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
