Georgia Golf Hall of Fame member James Mason of Dillard won the tenth annual The Championship at Berkeley Hills Country Club in a sudden-death playoff over amateurs Connor Pollman of Alpharetta and Josh Edgar of Atlanta. The affable 68-year old Mason won on the first playoff hole with a birdie.  Pollman and Edgar shared low amateur honors.

Mason who had carded a first round of 71, was three shots behind the co-leaders, Brian Dixon, Jacob Tilton and Sonny Skinner going into the round two, and fired a round of six-under par 66 for a tournament total of seven-under par 137 to capture his yet another win in a Georgia Section event. His score was the lowest of the tournament.

For his efforts Mason earned the first place prize money of $1,800.  Rounding out the top five were, Pollman and Edgar who finished tied for second place; there was a three-way tie for fourth place between Skinner, Tilton, and 2013 champion Gus Wagoner.

A special thank you to PGA General Manager Shawn McKinnon, golf course superintendent Chris Purvis, and all of the members and staff at Berkeley Hills Country Club for their hospitality.
