The ageless wonder, Georgia Golf Hall of Fame member James Mason, the PGA teaching professional from The Orchard Club in Clarksville captured the third annual Milton Martin Honda Classic supported by Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO contested at Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville.  The 69-year-old Mason fired a second-round score of 7-under par 65, which paired with his first-round score of 69 for a two-day total of 10-under par 134 to defeat J.P. Griffin of the Capital City Club and amateur Ruan Pretorius from Point University by a single stroke.  Mason’s round today matched the low round of the tournament that was posted by first round leader Sonny Skinner of Sylvester.

For his efforts, Mason earned the first-place check of $2,000. Pretorius won low amateur honors.  He is a native of South Africa, playing collegiately in the United States.  Defending champion, Matt Elliott of Dahlonega fired rounds of 74 and 67 to finish in a tie for 10th place.
