Country Club of the South Duo Takes Third Pro-Assistant Title in Four Years

Defending champions, Shawn Koch, PGA director of instruction and David Potts, assistant PGA professional from Country Club of the South in Johns Creek took top honors in the Club Car Pro-Assistant Championship presented by Callaway/ Cutter & Buck/ Sun Sport Optics/ Mobile Pro Shop/ and Pukka Headwear, which was held at Marietta Country Club in Kennesaw.

 

The Country Club of the South duo carded a blistering 14-under par round to win by one stroke ahead of the Peachtree Golf Club team of head golf professional, Donn Perno and assistant Brian Corn.  The win marks the third victory in four years for the Country Club of the South pair.

 

 The Georgia PGA would like to thank Chris Sanders & from Club Car, Christian Whittaker and Kevin Arkle from Callaway Golf, Todd Lovett from Cutter & Buck and Pukka Headwear, and Bill Doane from Mobile Pro Shop and Sun Sport Optics for all of their support of the championship.  All participants were able to demo Callaway Golf products on the range, and all received a golf shirt provided by Cutter & Buck, a pair of Sun Sport Optic sunglasses, and an Enduracool Towel from Mobile Pro Shop.

 

The Georgia PGA is one of the 41 Sections of the PGA of America. Its membership includes nearly 870 PGA professionals working at over 260 golf courses, clubs, and ranges throughout the state. Additionally, more than 20 Georgia PGA members compete on one of the PGA Tours. In keeping with the fundamental objectives laid down by its founders, one of the Georgia PGA's primary goals is promoting the game of golf through clinics, junior and minority golf programs, consumer programs, and print, radio, and television media.
