Paolozzi Comes from Behind to Win First Volvik Georgia Women's Open

Karen Paolozzi, PGA assistant professional at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta carded a final round of one-under par 71 for a championship total of four-under par 140 to win the Volvik Georgia Women’s Open by one shot over amateur Jessica Haigwood of Roswell.

Amateur Mitchell Takes Players Championship at Berkeley Hills

Owen and Nance Share Low Professional Honors

Tyler Mitchell of Chatsworth won the fifth annual Players Championship at Berkeley Hills Country Club presented by Do It Yourself Financial Management by one shot over fellow amateur Matt Luckett of Duluth.  This is the second straight year, an amateur captured the title.  Gus Wagoner won the championship in 2013, but was unable to defend his title this year due to a scheduling conflict.

Smith Storms to Victory at the Yamaha Atlanta Open

Mitchell Claims Low Amateur

Hank Smith, the head PGA professional at Frederica Golf Club on St. Simons Island, won his first Yamaha Atlanta Open presented by Bushnell/Bolle played at Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton.  Smith fired a round of four-under par 68 for a two-day total of six-under par 138, and defeated Jeff Gotham head PGA professional at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell by three strokes.

Drive, Chip & Putt Qualifiers

The Drive Chip & Putt Championship qualifying events in Georgia are listed below. After the local qualifiers are held, the sub-regional and regional qualifiers will narrow the field of competitors and the final group will advance to the National Championship on April 6, 2014 at Augusta National Golf Club. Tee times and results will be posted below and on our Drive, Chip & Putt page as they become available.

To volunteer at any of these qualifiers, please contact Scott Gordon at or 678-461-8600. PGA members will earn 1 PGA Required MSR credit for four hours of participation or 2 PGA Required MSR credits for five to eight hours participation at each Drive, Chip and Putt event.
